Committees

All positions with the FSCA are volunteer, without remuneration. Every committee documents its goals, activities, responsibilities, and accomplishments for the club’s annual report, and keeps careful records of expenses, with receipts submitted to the Treasurer monthly.

Committee Chairs and Board members are the club’s leaders and set an example of professionalism toward one another and the membership at all times. They practice the FSCA Code of Ethics and work toward the club’s objectives in every activity where they represent the FSCA.

The Role of a Committee Chair

A Committee Chair will:

  • set the tone for the committee’s work;
  • ensure members have the information they need for their jobs;
  • oversee the logistics of the committee’s operations;
  • report to the full Board on the committee’s decisions and recommendations;
  • assign work to committee members;
  • set the agenda, run meetings, and ensure minutes are distributed;
  • initiate and lead the committee’s annual evaluation.

Qualifications begin with: being a member in good standing with the FSCA; a working knowledge of the Finnish Spitz breed; good communication skills; and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
