Long-time members may qualify for reduced Lifetime dues (20+ years) or waived dues (25+ years); the Board applies these at renewal.
How to join
- Apply below. Complete the membership application (you’ll confirm an email address first).
- Meet the membership. Per our bylaws, each applicant’s profile appears in two consecutive issues of The Finnish Line before a vote.
- Board review. The Board reviews and votes on new applications.
- Activate your membership. Once approved, you’ll be invited to pay dues online (or by check) to become a full member.
Frequently asked questions
How much are dues?
Regular $30/year, Associate $20, Junior (under 18) $12, and Foreign (outside the U.S.) $20. Dues run by calendar year and are due January 1.
What’s the difference between the membership types?
Regular members are voting members who may hold office, chair committees, and sponsor new applicants. Associate, Junior, and Foreign members enjoy all the other benefits but do not vote or hold office.
Do I pay when I apply?
No — you apply first. Dues are paid only after the Board approves your membership.
How long does approval take?
New applicants are introduced in two consecutive issues of The Finnish Line before the Board votes, so the process usually spans a couple of months.
I live outside the United States — can I join?
Yes — choose the Foreign membership.
Can my child join?
Yes — Junior membership is for members under 18.
When do I renew?
Memberships renew each January 1. You’ll receive a reminder and can renew online from your member dashboard or by mailing a check to the Treasurer.
